The trial demonstrates how millimeter-wave spectrum can deliver substantially greater capacity than the 3.5 GHz bands commonly used for 5G deployments, while also reducing network latency. The solution combines zero-shot AI algorithms for tracking and pose estimation with 5G-TSN deterministic networking to achieve sub-10 ms latency.
Validated at TRL 6 through two Michelin industrial pilots focused on parts transportation and coextrusion monitoring 5G-MHAR resolves single-robot occlusion challenges, improves energy efficiency, and delivers public datasets for ongoing research. These enhanced capabilities will unlock new industrial use cases, particularly in manufacturing environments, where high-definition cameras, automation systems, and real-time analytics are increasingly used to monitor, optimize and control production processes.
