The Private Mobile Network (PMN) market is growing rapidly, with forecasts predicting a value of US$17.5–21 billion by 2030 and industry growth rates of 50–60% CAGR. These numbers cover all verticals and the full stack of network components. PMNs simplify this setup by enabling IP-based remote production, reducing cabling, and consolidating camera connections into a single RF link. All this results significantly lower cost and carbon footprint without compromising production quality.

On the distribution side, cost pressures and changing consumer behaviour are constantly reshaping the market. Video consumption is increasingly mobile-first, reducing reliance on traditional high-tower broadcasting. Private mobile infrastructure now enables both content delivery and public safety messaging over large geographical areas. Cumucore is collaborating with XGN to bring a 5G-based distribution solution to market, addressing both cost and reach challenges.
While media may not be the largest PMN vertical, it is rapidly advancing toward significant commercial PMN use cases. Technically, media and Industry 4.0 share similarities both involve dynamically managing data flows with specific Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, often leveraging features like TSN.
